Scripps Healthplan
COVID-19 update
Effective Jan. 15, 2022, the federal government mandated that all commercial health plans cover at-home, over-the-counter (OTC) COVID-19 tests authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Visit MedImpact for more information on reimbursement or how to obtain at-home antigen tests free of charge. Your insurance will pay for in-person and at-home COVID-19 tests regardless of whether you have symptoms. Please note that Scripps provides COVID-19 testing only for patients with moderate to severe symptoms, and at-risk patients with mild symptoms. If you are having symptoms, opt for PCR testing rather than antigen testing, which may not always be accurate. For the latest updates on testing, treatment, vaccines and boosters read our FAQs.
